google play Store recently released the redesigned web version of the application widely available. Along with the broader version of the revamped App Store, Google has also added a new compatibility section for app listings on Android. This section called “Compatibility for your active devices” is now available at the bottom of the “About this app” section of the app listing in Google Play Store on android devices. The section has not rolled out to everyone as the Compatibility section is still not visible for some handsets. According to a report by 9to5Google, the Compatibility section of the app is available on devices running Google Play Store version 30.6.16-21.

Users will only be able to see devices associated with their Google Account that have been active within the last 30 days. This section is available at the bottom of the “About this app” section of the app listing.
Importance of Google Play Store App Compatibility Section
Google explained that the “Compatibility for your active devices” section in Play Store app listings on Android will indicate whether an app works on a particular device. The report suggests that the new addition is intended to be simpler and more user-friendly, however, this new section seems to have overlapped the Application Information section.
This change reflects how Google Play is currently not just a store for phones and tablets. As wearable app development and adoption of Android Automotive continues to grow, updates like this make the smartphone app store a great, centralized place to manage it all.
What does the Compatibility section of the Google Play Store app look like?
Users will find their phone listed at the top of the section with the device name when they visit the “Compatibility for your active devices” section. Then it will be tracked by active To carry OS and Android/Google TV Watches (if applicable).

Users will find their phone listed at the top of the section with the device name when they visit the “Compatibility for your active devices” section.

The section will include important information such as compatibility (works on your device), app version, app download size, and required operating system (e.g. Android 6.0 and later). The required operating system section first appeared in April under Application Info and the section was previously called “Android OS”.
