UMW Toyota integrates Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) with new 24Seven Road Assist mobile app
Here is a good update for Toyota owners in Malaysia. UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has rolled out a new mobile application for its 24Seven Road Assist service.
This means that the existing 24-hour roadside assistance service can now be reached with just a few clicks on the phone. It does not replace the 1-800-888-247 helpline, but is an additional avenue. UMWT says the app is an industry first in our market.
You’d expect an emergency SOS button and it’s there, but what’s cool is the real-time tracking feature, so you’ll know where exactly help is coming from and when it’s coming, kinda such as tracking your lunch delivery order. This, along with the fact that help comes from a trusted Toyota dealer or authorized service provider, means extra peace of mind in unfortunate situations.
They say nothing is too trivial and that you can ask for help if you run out of gas or have a flat tire. Toyota owners even have the choice of selecting their preferred point of sale to assist them. The service, available 24/7 nationwide, offers free minor on-site repairs and towing (up to 50 km).
“We have been providing Toyota 24Seven Road Assist to our customers for 20 years. This is a service that is continually undergoing improvements to ensure that they never have to worry when they are on the road. As mobile technology develops more and more, the next logical step would naturally be to introduce a mobile application that would take this service to the next level, ”said UMWT President Ravindran K.
UMWT has integrated the app with its Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) integrated with the latest models. With VTS, the car can be monitored using GPS, its position being tracked by the app. This not only helps the authorities when it is necessary to recover the vehicle, but the system is also able to detect impacts (accidents), in which case the command center can send emergency services to the scene.
VTS also allows owners to view trip history with minute-by-minute reports, distance traveled and overall trip times. Via the application, one can review the driving model as well as define security parameters to monitor the movement of those close to them, such as new drivers. The app can track multiple vehicles.
“As technology advances, so do cars. It is inevitable, and we have seen vehicles evolve rapidly over the past 20-30 years to become more and more safe, cleaner, more economical, offering better performance, to become even smarter and to be able to deliver. greater forms of driver interaction. . In other words, transport and communication will become more and more dependent on each other in the era of transparent and connected mobility, ”said UMWT vice-president Akio Takeyama.
The Toyota 24Seven Road Assist mobile app can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android devices.
